Robert Lakatosh

Audio Engineering Student

ABOUT ME

I am a sophomore in both Audio Production Engineering at Pellissippi State Community College and Electrical Engineering at Tennessee Tech University. My love for audio engineering began with podcasting in high school. Since then, I have taken first place in the SkillsUSA national Audio/Radio Production competition with my teammate Merriam Barbour. I am also a finalist in NPR's 2023 College Podcast Challenge.

My experience in live sound began at the 2023 Big Ears Music Festival where I worked as a stagehand at the Old City Performing Arts Center. I have also run front-of-house for the band HWY TENN and Cornerstone Church of Knoxville. I currently work on local crew for audio at Food City Center.

In fall 2023, I took a course in Sound Design for Picture, where I gained experience recording foley, ADR, and ambience, synthesizing sound FX, and working with timecode. A few of my class projects can be seen below.

In February 2024, I began my experience with radio broadcasting, and I currently host a show titled What's in The Fridge? at Tennessee Tech's own WTTU 88.5 FM.
